What do you do?

I sit on Cooper Parry’s management board, helping to drive the business forward and keep it fresh and exciting, as well as well managed. I also run our award-winning, innovative and exciting audit business as well as taking responsibility for a number of the firms’ great clients, working with them to help deliver their aspirations.

Why do you do it?

Every day is packed with something different. Working with great businesses, entrepreneurs and driven people both at Cooper Parry and our clients means that every day you have to coach, mentor, help, listen, teach and develop bright people and get stuck into other people’s businesses to help solve their issues and be at their side when they need you. I absolutely bloody love what I do – it’s very rewarding.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

The clients I work with are diverse and complex businesses – no two days are the same. I could be travelling overseas to see a client’s business interests, helping them acquire or sell all or part of their company, stretching their thinking on developing their people and business models, buying new businesses, helping them with day to day issues and how to look at things differently, coaching and mentoring our exciting audit team and driving Cooper Parry forward into new locations, new people, new ways of working and staying at the top of our game. That’s a normal day for me.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Travel, new places, new people, new experiences. I work hard and want great experiences every day, and my simple philosophy on life is that you always have to have a holiday coming up. You can’t return from a holiday without at least one more to look forward to. Family, friends, my business, our team and holidays, that’s me. (Oh, and Nottingham Forest – Come on You Reds).
