Patrick Crookes

Patrick is an Employment Tax Partner based in our Manchester office. Patrick has over 17 years’ experience and is a Chartered Tax Advisor as well as a fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians. Patrick is a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax’s Employment Tax Technical Committee and also holds a role within their Qualification team.

Patrick joined the firm in September 2024 after 6 years with a Top 10 accountancy firm. Prior to that, Patrick spent over 10 years working in the Big Four. During his career, Patrick has helped clients implement cost saving initiatives via salary sacrifice, generating significant annual savings for both employers and employees alike.

Although advising employers gives Patrick experience across a wide variety of sectors, he has a particular interest in the Real Estate and Construction sectors, where he has provided clients with valuable assistance in relation to the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) over a number of years. Patrick regularly contributes to CIOT representations to HMRC via the Construction Forum and has written a number of articles on CIS over the last few years, as well as being selected as a speaker to a number of stakeholder and industry groups.

Outside of work, Patrick is a keen sports fan, with a particular interest in running and football. Although his sporting highlight would be attaining a black belt in Karate and going on to become a National Champion at the British University Sports Association nearly 20 years ago! With two young sons looking to follow in his footsteps, Patrick hasn’t ruled out a comeback to competition at some point soon!
