What do you do?

I am an Associate Partner in our Business Tax Team and take great pride in helping businesses, be it privately owned, PE backed or part of an international group, in navigating the wonderfully complex world of tax!

I have had some great experiences in advising a wide range of businesses over the last 20 years and have seen at first-hand how proactive tax advice can add real value to both companies and their shareholders.

Why do you do it?

It’s simple – working with great people both at Cooper Parry and across a range of some amazing businesses and seeing the difference tax can make!

I have built some amazing friendships and contacts over the years. Fundamentally, I want to make a difference to both my team and my clients – that is my overriding objective!

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

The list is so long! Examples include tax efficient corporate and shareholder structuring, tax advice in relation sale transactions, acquisitions support, tax structuring in relation to overseas expansion, HMRC negotiations, managing compliance requirements and optimising tax reliefs where relevant, tax efficient debt structuring….!

Each client is unique and so, for me, they key is to really understand the commercial/shareholder objectives and to ensure any tax advice helps to meet those objectives.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Lots of family holidays as the kids are growing up so fast that it is only a matter of time that the only reason they need me at the airport is for the drop off!
