What do you do?

I am a corporate lawyer with experience of both domestic and international corporate structuring and simplification, employee incentive share schemes, wealth planning including pre and post transaction support, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate governance advice. I have experience in traditional private practice law firms as well as legal within accountancy practices (including Big 4). I am passionate about delivering legal services embedded seamlessly with our Tax and Deals services to make our client’s lives easier. 

Why do you do it?

I am a fixer and I studied law to help people and to make things better. As a corporate lawyer I love meeting clients, understanding their goals and challenges, and working alongside other specialists to transform how our clients do business. I think law appeals because of the project management and organisation required.  Unlike most lawyers, I have a spreadsheet for almost everything, be that transaction documents lists, house renovations or even family BBQs. 

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I have been lucky to work on a wide range of corporate projects from huge international simplifications and politically motivated carve outs, to high profile M&A transactions and wealth planning. No day is the same! I am inspired by seeing clients through their business lifecycle, so a pre-transaction structuring, followed by a sale and then providing legal support for wealth planning in respect of sale proceeds would be right up my street. My USP is providing legal advice linked with our internal specialist teams so that as a client, you aren’t stuck in the middle. 

What’s on top of your bucket list?

My bucket list is constantly evolving as I tick things off. Looking for Santa in Lapland with my family was a real highlight. And sometimes life throws curveballs like seeing the Northern Lights in my front garden which was not quite the Scandi adventure I had dreamed of! Currently on the list is to spend more time exploring, eating gelato and drinking Aperol Spritz in Italy and to take the kids to Disneyland in Florida.
