What do you do?

Helping innovative businesses get much needed cash from HMRC to continually invest in new processes, products, machinery or use the cash boost for recruitment/growth.

Why do you do it?

Because I am a massive nerd. I love technology, numbers, and spreadsheets. Having previously spent time working in industry at an engineering firm, I wanted to try my hand at working in Tax due to my love of numbers. After joining the Corporate Tax team at Cooper Parry, I then transitioned into the CP Innovation team full time due to my technical background giving me the best of both worlds.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I love working with Manufacturing, Engineering and Software companies. I have had the privilege to work on a huge range of projects from a wide variety of sectors; including a revolutionary software development project using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as neural net, machine learning and swarm intelligence to create a no-code virtual software developer interface for users. Working with this client, we were able to pull together R&D claims that bagged them c.£700K cash from the revenue in just two claim years.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I want to travel. I want to see as much of the world as possible, creating amazing memories along the way.
