EVERY YEAR IS A CHANCE TO SURPASS THE LAST, AND AS WE REFLECT ON EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN 2019, WE’VE CERTAINLY SET THE BAR HIGH.

2019 – where do we begin? Geographically, we expanded into London, Bristol and the US. Financially, we achieved double digit organic revenue growth from continuing businesses.

That growth puts us amongst the fastest growing firms in the UK, according to the 2019 Accountancy Daily Top 50 survey, and it means we’ve now doubled in size between 2015 and 2019, to £37m.

Our people have doubled in that time too. We’ve now got 445 CP’ers, and we made 40 promotions and welcomed 143 new faces in 2019 alone, including five Partners.

CULTURE TRUMPING STRATEGY

If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times: create a culture and an environment that your people love being a part of, and watch the irresistible client experience follow.

In January last year, the European Employee Engagement Awards (EEA) named us the best place to work in Europe. We featured in The Sunday Times’ Top 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the fourth year in a row, coming 13th. And fast forwarding to January 2020, we were at it again at the EEA, picking up Best Wellbeing Strategy.

EXPLOSIVE EVENTS

Our 2019 events programme reached new heights too. We held our first Culture Carnival in July, welcoming 150 guests and a line-up of culture connoisseurs to champion the power of culture in every business’s success. And 2019 will forever be remembered as the year HUB CP was born – the community we created to celebrate and bring together the most adventurous, rebellious and entrepreneurial minds of our day – put on the map by explosive content, deep insights and our first Rebelution event.

MAKING LIFE COUNT

Staying true to our mantra of “Making Life Count” for our local community, we closed our offices for the day in November for our Community Day, with our people volunteering at dozens of incredible causes nearby. All to make a difference where it matters most.

In total, we supported over 20 charities in 2019, including our main charity partner for the year: Leicestershire-based Heart Link.

INVESTING IN THE MIDLANDS, LONDON AND THE US

Our East Midlands office, Sky View, had a major refurb last year. It had already been labelled one of the UK’s “coolest” offices, but we wanted to give our people even more flexibility, and saw the office refurb as an important step in the evolution of our digital culture.

We also spread our wings beyond the Midlands last year, expanding into new offices in London, Bristol and Dallas, Texas. We’re already offering the full range of CP services in London, and we’ve welcomed a number of high-profile hires there to feed our growth ambitions.

COOPER PARRY IT CROSSED THE POND

Microsoft named our IT team their 2019 Global Partner of the Year for Dynamics 365 Business Central. They were recognised for their excellence in innovation and implementation of the all-in-one, cloud-based business management solution.

We beat entrants from 115 countries to take the top spot, and we collected it in July in front of 60,000 people at the Microsoft Partner Conference in Las Vegas. Then, towards the end of the year, our IT whizzes announced they were going Stateside again, opening an office in Dallas, Texas, to begin transforming businesses there.

OUR CEO, ADE CHEATHAM, SAID:

“Wow! It’s been another fantastic year. We’ve put the power of culture front and centre once more, and being recognised and awarded for our efforts always feels good. With three new offices on both sides of the Atlantic, a world-beating IT team to complement our core business areas, and consistent engagement with some really exciting entrepreneurs, we’re in position to raise the bar again in 2020. Doubling in size since 2015, we’re ahead of the curve in our bold ambition to become a £150m+ business. We’re still Disrupting. We’re still Leading. We’re still Making Life Count. And that’s what it’s all about.”
