What do you do?

I head up the payroll team at Cooper Parry managing a great team of people. We have over 1200 payroll clients ranging from 1 employee up to 900 employees.  

We look after all aspects of payroll from start to finish processing including BACS payments.

Why do you do it?

I fell into payroll over 30 years ago and have never looked back. I really enjoy all aspects of my role, especially helping with client queries. The job changes on a daily basis, you never know what is going to happen from one day to the next and I really enjoy this variation. 

CP is a great place to work, they are a people focused company and care about their employees. 

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I have been involved in many new projects over my payroll career including the implementation of auto enrolment for staff pensions and claiming furlough for clients during the covid period. 

My current project is looking at new payroll software so that we can offer a more up to date approach to our client payroll offering. The new software is cloud based and client interactive. 

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Top of my bucket list is travel. I love a European city break and I am looking forward visiting as many places as possible in the next few years.
