What do you do?

I’ve developed a broad tax skill set since the start of my career in 2008, specialising more recently in R&D incentives. I have worked with and for both small and larger businesses, understanding how tax reliefs can be effectively maximised while managing HMRC risk.

By working with clients to understand their business, I can help them to claim R&D incentives, while being mindful of HMRC’s stance to what is a legitimate and often crucial incentive for innovative businesses to thrive.

Why do you do it?

I have an innate passion to help and support others. I also love project management, numbers and results.

I get to really understand what a business does – its successes, its failures – we don’t just touch the surface, we get in to the nitty gritty.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I’ve been involved in claims for SMEs through to FTSE100 companies, and relating to metallurgy through to medical devices. As a team we have supported businesses in claiming phenomenal tax benefits.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Running a marathon. I’ve ran on and off for a number of years – it’s my ultimate therapy! I’ve had a lot of injuries of late that keep setting me back (thanks kids). I watch the London marathon every year, apply every year and one day hope I’ll get to experience the ultimate runner’s high!
