What do you do?

I work with clients of all shapes and sizes, from household names and international groups to entrepreneurs and family businesses. Pretty much all transactions have tax implications and I provide tax advice to help clients to go about their business and plan ahead with an understanding of the increasingly complex rules which are likely to affect them.

Why do you do it?

I love the fact that after more than 20 years in tax, I’m still learning all the time. No two days at CP are the same!

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

Working with growing and dynamic businesses means that there is always a transaction around the corner – buying and selling companies, expanding overseas, investing into the UK and restructuring groups as plans change and evolve, to name a few.  Whilst commercial considerations always come first, providing clear tax advice and practical solutions (the simpler the better!) can often mitigate potential tax exposures and help businesses stay on top of compliance and reporting requirements.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

Next on my bucket list is a hot air balloon ride – after a couple of weather-related postponements already, I’m looking forward to crossing this one off in the next month or so!  I’m not a big fan of heights so this will be outside my comfort zone but more than worth it for the views and the experience.
