What do you do?
I’m an Technical Training Manager. My role largely centres around our clients. I look at their audit requirements, from the initial introductions and planning meetings, to organising the fieldwork, right up to signing the accounts. Another area is ad hoc work, usually one off, advice for specific accounting treatments or restructures.
Why do you do it?
I love the variety and interaction with so many different people, places and businesses. The continuous requirement to find solutions and help others is very rewarding.
CP is the best place to be for this as the company is so flexible. It allows us to get the best out of every day, which ultimately means we are able to get the best out of our clients too.
Aside from audits, I’ve been involved in group restructures, including international companies. I’ve also been involved in advisory roles to help implement new accounting standards in large plc companies.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
Bucket list ideas are forever changing! But travelling and exploring the culture of Canada has always been top of the list.
