What do you do?
I work in the Service Charge department here at CP which entails preparing property accounts in line with industry guidelines and regulations. I work from the perspective of a ‘tenant’, always challenging my thought process to ensure I’m considering what regulations are required but also best practice. How would I interpret my work if I was looking from the outside in?
Why do you do it?
I was drawn to the world of Service Charge after spending a couple of years in general accounts and finding myself bored of the same repetitive tasks every day.
Service Charge allows me to broaden my skillset as we are constantly problem solving and challenging the status quo.
We never stop learning with how often improvements are made to our niche industry and I find myself seeking new information every day.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
Every day is a project! We turn numbers into meanings. We support our clients every day, whether it’s advice or a quick accrual required, and we help to piece together an entire year’s worth of work.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
My absolute life goal is to go diving with sharks. I watched a documentary about them as a youngster and I’ve been obsessed with the idea since.
I originally wanted to become a marine biologist but then I realised I’d have to go on and study science for a number of years and it suddenly became less appealing.
