What do you do?
I’m an Audit Manager within the Pensions Department and I have a varied role. I manage a portfolio of pension schemes, I help the people in the team manage their development, and I’m part of the leadership team too. I have a varied background in audit, accounts, and tax – my experience is broad, and I have even worked in California!
Why do you do it?
I’m motivated by working with people and I enjoy the satisfaction of delivering exceptional client service. I love the challenge of an ever-changing environment; it’s my adrenaline.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
I have over nine years’ experience in audit, accounts, due diligence, special projects, business tax and corporation tax. I’ve enjoyed working for manager–owned audit firms and building client relationships, and I’ve had the opportunity to deliver full projects early in my career. This sums me up well: I want to take it to the wire and if I can be involved, I will be there!
What’s on top of your bucket list?
For me, it’s difficult to focus on one thing. If that was the case, auditing pension schemes would not be for me! I’m drawn to adventure and exploration, so I would say: trek the Inca Trail, climb Mount Kilimanjaro, run a marathon, visit the Galápagos Islands, and learn about other cultures. I think it’s all about working hard, but also working smarter so you can enjoy life.
