What do you do?
I lead the Private Client team at Cooper Parry, which involves managing clients’ tax affairs and thinking about future tax and wealth strategies.
Why do you do it?
It’s the opportunity to interact with clients; dealing with them on an individual level but providing advice that sits in the context of their wider family/business relationships, and current circumstances.
Often, those relationships with clients span a number of years, and my advice evolves and adapts with their changing needs – which is particularly rewarding.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
I’ve advised clients and their families who are looking to leave the UK, helping them find the most appropriate place for themselves to be based. Then, establishing the framework to make that happen in the most tax efficient way.
I’ve advised individuals who are coming to the UK, too, on how to best structure their affairs.
And I’ve also advised individuals and senior executives in companies on how to best structure pay and rewards to deliver renumeration in the most tax efficient way, while also reflecting the company’s commercial needs.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
I’d really like to go on a wine tasting (and buying) trip to Argentina and Chile.
