    What do you do?

I audit the financial statements of our pension scheme clients. Quite simply, this mean that I check whether balances stated within the financial statements are correct. I communicate with a wide variety of people on a day-to-day basis, these include (but are not limited to!) scheme trustees, scheme actuaries and scheme administrators. As I have developed in my role, I now work predominantly on PPF and other complex audit engagements, these can often be challenging as there are always a lot of intricacies to consider, but that is why I enjoy auditing them!

    Why do you do it?

To be brutally honest, when I finished sixth form, I had no clue what I wanted to do. I did not start my accountancy career at CP, which is a shame! I started at a firm that was quite the opposite of everything that CP lives for. I always knew that CP was somewhere that I would thrive at, our morals aligned and the idea of being the rebels of accountancy fascinated me. So, when the opportunity came along to join the flourishing pensions team, I took it with open arms. And I do not regret it one bit!

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

Every job is a new project. Each client has their own way of working through an audit and therefore we are always adapting our approach to meet the client’s needs. When working on PPF audit engagements there can be strict deadlines. When these are met it is huge achievement and you know the time you have invested into the client will be appreciated by them. This makes each audit very rewarding.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I love to travel and have travelled extensively across North America. However, I am yet to complete all 50 states of the USA and I am yet to explore Mexico. This is definitely at the top of my bucket list. I get a thrill from learning about new cultures and the history of the place I am visiting.
