What do you do?
My role is to invest time with my clients, helping them manage their year end procedures and ensuring the Pensions Scheme accounts are completed on time and in line with UK accounting standards and the SORP.
This involves me working on a number of pensions scheme audits and working closely with our team to ensure we deliver a great service in line with the client’s expectations. I have a varied background and have worked in a number of different areas at Cooper Parry over the years, including company audits, accounts and corporation tax.
Why do you do it?
After 25 years, why am I still at CP? Well, it’s quite simple really. It’s the people I work with who constantly challenge the “Status Quo” and constantly look to disrupt and find a better way of doing things. It has a great culture and is truly a great place to work.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
The most rewarding part of my work is spending time with clients, understanding their short term and long term objectives, and playing a “small part” in their success. That could include meeting with clients on a monthly or quarterly basis to discuss the financial results, or assisting clients in looking to the future and pulling together forecasts to obtain additional funding requirements.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
Since a very early age I have loved watching and playing cricket, and therefore top of my bucket list is to go and watch England play Australia at the MCG on Boxing Day.
