What do you do?
I’m the business development lead for Cooper Parry in the West Midlands. You could say that Team BD are ‘Head of First Impressions’ – we are often, if not always, the first point of contact for any new businesses speaking with Cooper Parry. My job is to make our business community aware of us, build long standing relationships, introduce them to our incredible people and coordinate the process between introduction to final stage of tendering to win business.
Why do you do it?
Cooper Parry don’t do things by half – and neither do I. With over 8 years of sales experience in various organisations – it has been refreshing to come to Cooper Parry that not only values the importance of relationships – but has built its whole ethos on that basis. For me personally, the buzz comes from finding and introducing a business that Cooper Parry didn’t know before – when that relationship starts – there is so much excitement around getting to know each other.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
Helping the West Midlands office grow has given me lots of insight into the services that Cooper Parry offer. I’ve had lots of discussions now with business owners, managing directors and finance directors who have gone on to become Cooper Parry clients. But we’re not just doing the audit – every service line we have is solely geared to driving value to these clients – and I’m very lucky to be one of the first people to meet these prospective clients and hear about their successes, failures and journey as a whole.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
I would love to visit Japan – the fast-paced environment there has always fascinated me (and I love sushi!). I’d want to visit during cherry blossom season as it looks picture perfect!
