What do you do?

In a nutshell, I work with entrepreneurs to support them and help them grow their businesses! My primary focus in on businesses from start up to £10m turnover, the portfolio I manage covers this whole range across a wide variety of sectors.

Part of the support is taking the stress out of compliance! we have great team and slick processes that can make this happen really efficiently, freeing up time for the real added value stuff!

It is the value added support that I enjoy the most, I work really closely with my client’s and I like to be seen as an extension of their finance team, this takes the form of providing, relevant, timely and insightful management information and then having the conversations to bring this information ‘to life’.

Why do you do it?

I love working with entrepreneurs and business owners, I take genuine enjoyment in seeing their business succeed and being part the journey with them. With the client’s I have, it’s a bit of a cliché but there is never a dull moment, there is always something new to be involved with or learn about so I feel that I am continuously developing.

As my career has progressed, I have realised my strengths lie in relationship building and analysing figures. I am really fortunate to have found a role, and a culture within Cooper Parry that enables me play to my strengths, add value to others and work with really great people. I really enjoy my job!

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

Most recently I have been involved with designing and implementing finance systems for clients. One particular business comes to mind. It was with a relatively new start-up who had virtually no systems in place, we worked with them to fully understand the business, the transactions that were taking place and what their objectives were in terms of output.

After mapping out the process, applying previous learnings and consulting with some of the wider Cooper Parry teams we came up with and implemented a solution which could be used in the present and in line with their future growth plans. The client was delighted!

What’s on top of your bucket list?

No 1 – Complete a triathlon! – I think this would be a true test of mental and physical strength and I have great admiration for people that have done them. When I do complete one, not only will I have a massive sense of satisfaction, I know I’ll be the fittest I’ve ever been!
