What do you do?
As a manager in the Not for Profit team, I work closely with my clients and colleagues in running a smooth audit process.
I take pride in providing independent assurance over the numbers, technical insight into complicated transactions and sharing best practice.
Why do you do it?
The key driver for me is knowing that our work helps our clients in being more compliant and more efficient; in turn this will help them support their beneficiaries better.
The biggest appeal of working at CP is that we have a dedicated NFP team with a range of experiences and backgrounds. This means we are uniquely placed to provide sector specific expertise that is up-to-date and focused on our clients’ needs.
I love the use of data and technology and I am passionate about using them to create efficiencies and insight for my clients.
What kind of projects have you been involved in?
I like getting involved in the detail of complex transactions; recently I have helped in accounting for the merger of two charities. In that instance the client was able to focus their resources on their day-to-day operations rather than the financial reporting elements of the transaction.
Working closely with clients’ year-on-year allows me to provide support in their growth. I have helped schools become academies and grow into Multiple Academy Trusts. I get to bring my knowledge of the sector and best practices to help develop clients finance systems and processes. This has allowed my clients to expand their capabilities to meet their new demand whilst avoiding common pitfalls and delays.
What’s on top of your bucket list?
Top of the list would be to visit Hawaii with my wife and daughter. Life goes by at a fast pace so I love the idea of relaxing in paradise with the people I hold the most dear to me.
