We’ve hired a Debt Advisory specialist to complement our Corporate Finance business and strengthen our position in the sub £200m turnover deals market; especially as we expand into London and the southern market.
Paul Ambrose brings with him over 30 years’ experience as both an advisor and a lender with PwC and Barclays.
He will be supporting Cooper Parry clients by raising finance from the wide range of institutions now serving the UK market to fund transactions and refinancing requirements across the entrepreneur, private equity owned and listed business areas.
The UK debt market has evolved and changed drastically over the last few years with many new funders now providing alternatives to the mainstream banks. There are now well over 50 banks and other institutions providing debt to the UK mid-market, and on top of that, it’s estimated that at least 50% of all private equity transactions in 2018 were financed by alternative, non-bank lenders.
“I’m delighted to have joined Cooper Parry to expand our Corporate Finance offering. I love meeting shareholders and management teams, understanding their businesses and their goals, and working with them to put in place the right financing solutions.
Cooper Parry is a well-respected name in the sub £200m market and I’ve already had some great conversations around how we can help clients to deliver the right answer for them.”
Andy Parker, Corporate Finance Partner said:
“Given the increasing complexity and range of debt providers, having a dedicated debt advisor in our team and providing genuinely expert advice to clients is essential.
Having worked with Paul both at PwC and as a consultant on a substantial healthcare investment by Livingbridge last year, I’m sure we have the right person to build our debt advisory and corporate finance business.
Paul’s presence in London, as well as his strong relationships with Midlands banks and debt providers, gives us a real advantage and will play a big part in growing and enhancing Cooper Parry’s brand in London.”
