The UK’s largest sound equipment supplier for live events, SSE Audio Group Holdings Limited (‘SSE’), has been acquired by Groupe Solotech INC (‘Solotech’) in Canada. Cooper Parry Corporate Finance acted as the exclusive financial adviser to SSE and its Shareholders.
SSE was founded in 1976 by John and Heather Penn, who started out supporting the Rock ‘n’ Roll industry aged 19. The business grew organically and through acquisitions such as Wigwam and Canegreen, supporting leading performers such as Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and many others with state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated, highly experienced technicians.
Since 1976, John and Heather have been joined and supported in the business by stalwarts like Spencer Beard and Alex Penn. The sale is positive for the UK Group, with Solotech, the largest operator in Canada working with artists such as Michael Bublé, Celine Dion and Cirque du Soleil.
Since being founded in Montreal in 1977, Solotech has become a world-class provider of technical solutions and services for a broad range of clients, market sectors and applications worldwide.
