What do you do?

I assist clients who own commercial and mixed-use properties in maximising their investments. My work includes advising on acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant issues, and development matters. I guide clients in the retail and office sectors, investment funds, lenders, and overseas investors.

Why do you do it?

The sad truth is that law was always second to politics for a long time. I chose law as my degree in university, intending to revisit politics later in life after qualifying as a solicitor. However, a combination of falling in love with the law (as sad as it may sound, it’s true) and working in politics (before starting my formal solicitor training) made me realise that the law is what I truly wanted to pursue.

What kind of projects have you been involved in?

I work on fascinating projects every day and provide clients with the guidance they need to make the most of their investments. Some of my favourite projects include:

  • advising one of the UK’s largest pension funds on the development of two hotels located in one of the three busiest airports in the UK;
  • advising one of the largest investment companies in the world on the sale of a portfolio of six assets worth over £100m; and
  • advising a client on their assisted living portfolio, which includes over 1,000 units.

What’s on top of your bucket list?

I have always wanted to go on a road trip across South America as I am fascinated by its history and culture. Back in 2016, I had everything arranged to leave the UK, work and live in Colombia, but unfortunately, life got in the way, and I was unable to make the trip. However, I still hold onto the hope that tal vez algun dia I will be able to fulfil my dream of exploring South America.
